I’m Jayla, founder of Deadly and Darling Nails. I’ve always loved the weird and the pretty, finding beauty in the grotesque, embracing maximalism, while still appreciating simplicity. I love combining the deadly with the darling, hence the name.

I’ve been an artist my whole life. I started exhibiting my work in galleries at 12 and have since completed five qualifications in visual arts, including a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Nails became another way for me to create, connect, and express individuality. I love meeting all kinds of people and creating sets that feel like a physical representation of someone’s personality

Having had a rough start to life, I know how important it is to feel safe, respected, and understood. Being a private nail tech was a need, not a want. It lets me give the person in my chair my full attention and create a space where they can just be themselves.
